Hellenic Cadastre (Ktimatologio)
Law 2308/1995 laid the foundations for the operation of the new land registration system called Ktimatologio (Hellenic Cadastre). The Ktimatologio is basically a complete record of all rights on properties throughout the country, with the aim of protecting and securing them. The Ktimatologio is a much more modern and comprehensive system than the old system that exists in Greece and is similar to Torrens Title in Australia. According to Greek legislation, all natural or legal persons who have real or other registrable rights to real estate are required to submit a declaration to the Ktimatoligio to secure their rights of ownership. If someone does not submit a declaration, then these properties are recorded as "unknown owner" and if this entry is not corrected in time, then in the future the owner will lose their rights of ownership. We are very familiar with all processes associated with the Ktimatologio and we can help you in securing your rights of ownership.
